Usratuna

The Djalal familyChad · Sudan · Egypt · France · Canada · and wherever we are today

Our family, in one place.

A private home for our people. Our stories, our family tree, and the ties that hold us together, kept safe and open only to family.

New here? You'll need an invitation from someone in the family.

Our story

From Chad, Sudan and Egypt, to France, Canada and every corner of the world we now call home.

Our family carries names, dates and stories that once passed around one table. Today we are spread across countries, languages and generations, and those threads are easy to lose. We built Usratuna so ours are not: a living family tree, a way to find and reach one another, and a record we keep together and hand to our children.

O mankind, We created you from a male and a female, and made you peoples and tribes, that you may know one another.

Qur'an · Al-Hujurat 49:13

مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ فَلْيَصِلْ رَحِمَهُ

Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him maintain the ties of kinship.

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ · Bukhari & Muslim

You decide what you share, and you can leave whenever you wish.

Take it with you

Install it on your device in one tap.

Usratuna opens full-screen like any app, works offline and updates itself, on iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac and Windows. Installing is also what lets it notify you the moment family message you.

When it opens, it shows an Install button and walks you through the one step for your device. On iPhone and iPad that step is Share, then “Add to Home Screen”, which is the only way Apple allows. No app store, nothing to download.

Step by step, with pictures

Open the one for your device. The button to press is ringed in gold.

iPhone or iPad
  1. Open app.usratuna.com in Safari and tap the Share button at the bottom (a square with an arrow).

  2. Scroll down the list and tap “Add to Home Screen”.

  3. Tap “Add” at the top right. The Usratuna icon is now on your home screen: always open it from there.

Android phone
  1. Open app.usratuna.com in Chrome and tap the three dots at the top right.

  2. Tap “Install app” (on some phones it says “Add to Home screen”).

  3. Confirm with “Install”. Usratuna appears with your other apps.

Computer
  1. In Chrome or Edge, open app.usratuna.com and click the install icon at the right of the address bar (a small screen with a down arrow).

  2. Click “Install”.

  3. Usratuna opens in its own window and stays in your taskbar or Dock.

It opens like a normal app, works offline, and keeps you notified.
